Well, its certainly been a while since I last blogged, longer than I thought actually – sorry about that!!! Life, inside and outside of work, has definitely taken off over the past few weeks/month and I haven’t stopped. So far its been a really great summer and lots has happened.
Now, where to start?!…I guess the biggest thing is my training for the half marathon in October. I’ve enlisted the help of a trainer to help me build up my strength and I’ve also got a running schedule for the next few weeks. I’d say thats been the hardest part for me, fitting in 3 runs, along with a training session, Pilates and maybe a workout class, into my weeks. I’m normally a morning runner, but thats not possible in the week. I recently got up and out of my bed at 5am the other day to run, which I quickly regretted it as it killed me for the rest of the week…..I will NOT be jumping out of bed to do it again, but continue going after work, which is getting easier! That aside, I’m really enjoying mixing my workouts up and have definitely noticed how much stronger I have become during training and in my runs!
The biggest and most exciting event, was last weekend, when one of my greatest friends got married. I went to college with her and we lived together in our last year, along with 3 of our closest friends. I travelled to Wales, the depths of Wales I might add, with Anna, who I also went to college with and spent the weekend in the most beautiful house/where the reception of the wedding was being held. We met everyone at the church, after a quick change, before waiting for the bride to arrive. Both Anna and I had been asked to read, which we were very honored to do.
The ceremony and the reception were both absolutely beautiful, as well as the bride, her beautiful daughters (flower girls), maid of honor, bridesmaids, and everyone else involved. We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the beautiful sunshine, dining on delicious food, taking hundreds of photos and dancing the night away! It was really lovely to be together again to celebrate such a lovely day. A day I know I’ll remember forever.
After these busy weeks/weekends, I’m very much looking forward to a quiet weekend at home catching up on Netflix (my new addiction), seeing family and having a bit of me time!
Hope you have all had a great week and have been out enjoying the sunshine! Stay well and have a lovely weekend. Thanks for reading 🙂
